Rove, Rove, Rove your boat....

OK, check out this misleading headline regarding the Rove annoucement this morning:

Rove off the hook in CIA leak case - Politics - MSNBC.com

Ummm, not really, corporate news......

Firedoglake - Some Things to Contemplate…
"The language used by Luskin strongly suggests that Rove got immunity in exchange for his cooperation (it is probably the same deal I have been suggesting was offered to Novak way back when. . . )Otherwise he never would have testified in the Grand Jury to begin with.

“Does not anticipate seeking charges” means that if Rove testifies at Libby’s trial as expected, and as his agreement no doubt provides for him to testify, (lawyers call it providing “ongoing cooperation”), then all will be well for him. But if he “goes sideways” on Fitz and testifies differently from what is now expected, he could be charged–w/perjury certainly, and his deal to avoid criminal liability in the larger conspiracy could be “off” as he could face charges in that as well."
... And do you think we could get some reporters to press the following:

Media Matters - Rove's lawyer says he won't be indicted ... so: What about that security clearance?:
"As Media Matters repeatedly noted, the subject of Rove's security clearance has gone largely unreported by the news media. When the White House has faced questions about the clearance, it has repeatedly refused to answer, citing the 'ongoing investigation.'

Now that Rove is apparently no longer the subject of an 'ongoing investigation' into the Plame matter, Media Matters hopes reporters will demand answers about his security clearance."
Look, Rove is working this situation. He's agreed to testify against Libby. If he doesn't play by Fitzgerald's rules then his ass is in the hot seat again. Oh, and let's not forget the civil suit that cometh his way via Plame/Wilson.

The smartest and they all voted for Kerry:

America’s smartest cities:
"Which community boasts the highest concentration of brainpower -- and therefore can claim to be America's smartest big city?"

1. Seattle
2. San Francisco
3. Austin
4. Colorado Springs
5. Minneapolis

NYT Bob Herbert: Kerry 'almost certainly' won Ohio in 2004:
"Republicans, and even a surprising number of Democrats, have been anxious to leave the 2004 Ohio election debacle behind. But Kennedy, in his long, heavily footnoted article ('Was the 2004 Election Stolen?'), leaves no doubt that the democratic process was trampled and left for dead in the Buckeye State. Kerry almost certainly would have won Ohio if all of his votes had been counted, and if all of the eligible voters who tried to vote for him had been allowed to cast their ballots.
....
No one has been able to prove that the election in Ohio was hijacked. But whenever it is closely scrutinized, the range of problems and dirty tricks that come to light is shocking. What's not shocking, of course, is that every glitch and every foul-up in Ohio, every arbitrary new rule and regulation, somehow favored Bush."
Actually, this new species is just the evil spawn of Tom Delay and Strom Thurmond

New hammerhead shark discovered:
"Scientists have discovered what they believe may be a new species of hammerhead shark living in the Atlantic Ocean.

The hammerhead, which has yet to be formally identified or described, was spotted in the northwestern Atlantic and is believed to be a rare species. "
