It never ceases to amaze me that seemingly almost everyone buys into the myth of the United States' traditional "high moral ground"---as if it is as sacred a given as the sun rising in the east. In my lifetime to name just a few examples, ask all the vicitms of the torture states in Central America, Haiti, Chile, etc., the napalmed victims in Southeast Asia and now, apparently, in Iraq, and all the other folks who have enjoyed the high moral standards of this country.
