Original Post
From the DBT Yahoo Group:
Nick Hornby (About a Boy, High Fidelity) has a pretty great novel out called A Long Way Down about 4 very different people who find themselves on the same rooftop on New Year's Eve with the intentions of killing themselves. The one guy is an American whose band just broke up, and at one point he dons a Truckers shirt to go out and pick up a chick (who knew that worked?)...Also:
Marshal Boswell also mentions his main character wearing a Truckers t-shirt in his novel Alternative Atlanta, about a 30-something music writer whose shallow lifestyle is getting old.

I just finished "Killing Yourself to Live: 85% of a True Story" (and loaned my copy to Patterson). And from me: Patterson is excerpted in Rednecks and Bluenecks: The Politics of Country Music
In this one the main character is actually listening to SRO.
