Spraying Perfume on these Turds.

These fuckin' morons. The GOP wants to force a debate on the Iraq war? Umm, what's the phrase I'm lookin' for.....?...... Oh, yeah. BRING... IT... ON!

GOP Measure Forces House Debate on War:
"Nearly four years after it authorized the use of force in Iraq, the House today will embark on its first extended debate on the war, with Republican leaders daring Democrats to vote against a nonbinding resolution to hold firm on Iraq and the war on terrorism."
If it's only a dare, don't bite, Demos. If they double-dog dare you then you've got some problems. Juvenile fucks.

What's this commie Rice talkin' about? Sounds like she's sympathizing with the terrorist. I thought the company line was that we would prevail and flowers at our feet and California style democracy would flourish in the middle east and the desert would be transformed into a red wood forest and liberators and fetid tons of other impossible bullshit...

I use to live in Greensboro.... and this one time at band camp.... seriously, though, I use to live in Greensboro. Awesome strip clubs.

Rice: No guarantees on Iraq, Afghanistan:
"GREENSBORO, N.C. - Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said Wednesday that the U.S. military interventions in Iraq andAfghanistan do not assure those countries will become successful democracies."
And the rush to remodel bathrooms across the U.S. of A. has begun...

Drug caches found in Home Depot vanities:
"(CNN) -- Large quantities of drugs were found inside merchandise from at least two Home Depot stores in Massachusetts, and authorities are investigating, police said Wednesday.

A contractor late last week discovered two 50-pound 'bricks' of marijuana wrapped in plastic bags inside a bathroom vanity he had purchased at a Home Depot store in Tewksbury, said Chief of Detectives Lt. Dennis Peterson."
J. Stewart kicks faggy GOP Mehlman's ass...

Crooks and Liars:
"Stewart: You're the guy--I have sympathy for you because you're the guy who has to spray perfume on these turds. You know what I mean? You're the guy that has to go out and like no matter what (garbled) It's not an easy job. I mean what happened to these guys..."
American Taliban Watch:

BYU prof. let go for gay marriage stance:
"PROVO, Utah - Brigham Young University has decided not to rehire a part-time instructor because he publicly opposed the Mormon church's stand against marriage for same-sex couples.

Jeffrey Nielsen, a philosophy instructor at the church-owned university, said in an op-ed piece for the June 4 edition of The Salt Lake Tribune, 'I believe opposing gay marriage and seeking a constitutional amendment against it is immoral.'"

Davy,

Uh, oh, looks like someone has got their PC badge out.

Ken Mehlman is the head of the RNC. He bashes gays while it is strongly rumored that he himself is gay. I have no issue calling a closeted homosexual who promotes hatred against homosexuals "faggy".

Also, I'm fucking sick of certain groups of people co-opting words that they themselves can use but consider it racist or inappropriate if another group of people uses that word.

GTFOI

JPW---I am gay, and neither I nor any gay or straight man (or woman) I know would you the word "fag" in any of its forms. It is very offensive. I was at my flea market stall a few months ago and two black men were looking at my CDs. One of them pulled out a George Michael and said very disparagingly: "he is a fucking faggot". I rarely get angry, but I blew my stack. I said to him that as a gay man I found that extremely offensive, and would feel the same way if I were straight. Then I said: "How would you like it if I called you a nigger". To me it is the same thing. To put it mildly he didn't get my philosophical point. He tried to leap over the table and I think would have killed me if his partner had not physically held him back and dragged him down the aisle screaming jesus/christian garbage about sinners burning in hell...JPW, I know full well you are not a homophobe and are a fair and compassionate man. I would never use the n word or any racial epithet, and to me fag is in the same league. A straight friend told me that if I had died during that ugly incident atleast I would have died for a good cause.

As far as PC goes, I find that when most people accuse someone of being PC, it eliminates all discussion and thought about the issue, in the same way rightwingers try to end all discussion by throwing in "why do you hate America!".

No, Davy, when you get up on your high-horse and berate me for using a word such as "faggy", you are obsuring the REAL issues by bitching about a little word usage.

It is only offensive if you allow it to be offensive. You give that word power by allowing it to hurt you. It is just a goddamn word. That's all.

Let me ask you, have you ever uttered the word "redneck"? Honestly, have you?

And what kills me is that you wrote this, "I would never use the n word or any racial epithet" but you claim you said this "How would you like it if I called you a nigger". Do I need to point out the hypocrisy? You say you'd never use it but you did use it. I don't give a flying fuck about the context. You still used it and you felt justified in using it.

But, truely, it is all about context, isn't it. I didn't write "fucking fag". I wasn't dragging you behind a truck while I screamed "faggy, faggy, faggy"! It's not what I say, it's what I do.

And I know plenty of gay men who use the word "fag" and the word "gay" to describe something. I know plenty of gay and lesbian entertainers who use the term in their routines... who profit from the use of the word. Same with nigga/nigger.

Davy, you know me and you know that there was no venom in the phrase I wrote. I wrote it to describe a closeted Republican (seems to be quite a few of those) who has so much self hatred that he is actively pushing an amendment to the Constitution that would legalize discrimination. THAT is the real outrage. Not someone using the word "faggy".

So here we are, pissing away valuable debate time on a non issue when we should be discussing what really matters...

Davy, why do you hate America? ;-D

JPW---Of course I know there was no venom. That I hope would go without saying. I apologize if I implied that in any way. I still will find it offensive no matter who uses it, progressive gay comedians or ignorant homophobes. Calling someone gay is not an itself an insult, whether he is gay or not. I did not choose to be gay, but I think if it were a choice it would be a fine choice for me (or anyone)to have made. But I totally agree with you that there is much more important work to do, and discussions to be had. For example, as much I think gay marriage is only fair and just, it does not seem very important when people are literally dying, sufffering, and being tortured daily. As far hating America, I can't understand hating two whole continents. As far as those Latin Americans are concerned, as Randy Newman said, they stole our name!

It's hard work hating an entire hemisphere, fer sure!

I'm more worried about those dang Canadians with their hockey and universal health care. Why that's down right....UnAmerican!

Good talkin' with you today.
