Are you fucking serious?!? GODDAMMIT!
Obama: ‘I’d rather be a really good one-term president’ | Raw Story:
There's no such thing as a 'really good one-term president'. No. Such. Fucking. Thing.
If you are 'really good' in your first term, then you are elected for a 2nd term.
Yes, the U.S. is a clusterfuck of stupidity but not the 'Yeah, he was a really good president.... let's vote for this douchebag, instead' battered fucking wife kind of stupid... well, OK, sometimes that stupid, but.... just FUCK!
Just because he was articulate expressing this view doesn't make it any stupider than the dumbest thing Bush ever said.
You are making this really hard, Obama.

"'I'd rather be a really good one-term president than a mediocre two-term president,' he said Monday in an interview with ABC's Diane Sawyer."

We elected a DEMOCRAT, Obama, not whatever kind of Republican you are trying to be.
Why in the hell is this man trying to legitimize one of the dumbest conservative ideas out there.
Spending freeze? Really?

Spending freeze? Really?
Obama Liquidates Himself - Paul Krugman Blog - NYTimes.com:
"A spending freeze? That’s the brilliant response of the Obama team to their first serious political setback?Obama must be being paid to write Republican campaign commercials.
It’s appalling on every level."
Every heard of 'He was for it before he was against it', Obama?
Candidate Obama criticized McCain’s spending freeze idea as ‘hatchet’ | Raw Story
"The problem with a spending freeze is you're using a hatchet where you need a scalpel," then-Senator Obama said in his first presidential debate against McCain. "There are some programs that are very important that are underfunded."

Daily Kos: BREAKING: Liberals announce “support freeze”:
"WASHINGTON—Speaking for the millions of principled American liberals who believe in the government’s fundamental ability to best address the republic’s ills, left-wing favorite Howard Dean took the podium today in Washington to announce a 'freeze' of support for the Obama Administration and its policy agenda.
Howard Dean at today's event, speaking on behalf of liberals everywhere:
'By cutting all discretionary support for the Obama Administration over the next three years, liberals in America will save up to 250 billion hours of wasted time and energy on mid-term campaigning and voting in 2010 alone. Not to mention the millions of dollars we can save withholding campaign contributions. I know this all sounds radical, even crazy, but I don’t see liberals as having much of a choice. If we continue to let the president think he has our support, there’s no telling which atrocities he may perpetrate to win over independents. It must stop here.'"

Watergate, anyone? This one goes deep, I'm sure. But, this is America. After Nixon, conservatives ensured that only the small take the fall.

John Atlas: ACORN Is Back in the News, but the News Still Gets it Wrong:The 'news' always gets it wrong.
But, point a finger we must.
But, point a finger we must.
"Now ACORN is back in the news, but as part of the 'back story' linked to O'Keefe's arrest. In reporting on O'Keefe's arrest, however, the mainstream press continues to botch the ACORN story. In her report for National Public Radio, for example, reporter Eileen Fleming said that in reaction to the controversy over ACORN, Congress had blocked federal funds going to the group, without mentioning that a federal district court ruling had overturned Congress' action on December 12, 2009. The Associated Press omitted the same important fact. Reporting in the The Times-Picayune, David Hammer, repeated the myth that O'Keefe was dressed as a pimp when taping ACORN employees. In fact, O'Keefe presented himself to ACORN staffers as a friend, or boyfriend, of his colleague, Ms. Giles, who was posing as a prostitute. O'Keefe wore a dress shirt and normal clothing when he was in the ACORN offices, but spliced in shots of himself wearing the pimp outfit in the final videos to make it appear that he had worn them in the meetings with ACORN. The New York Times' story on Tuesday, by Campbell Robertson and Liz Robbins, made the same mistake."

Don't tell Obama. He'll up the pace of running away from the folks who elected him.
Humans Could Run 40 mph, in Theory - Yahoo! News:
"Humans could perhaps run as fast 40 mph, a new study suggests. Such a feat would leave in the dust the world's fastest runner, Usain Bolt, who has clocked nearly 28 mph in the 100-meter sprint.
The new findings come after researchers took a new look at the factors that limit human speed. Their conclusions? The top speed humans could reach may come down to how quickly muscles in the body can move."
