Docu-Bullshit

If you haven't heard, ABC will be running what they call a 'docudrama' on 9/11. The piece is written, produced, directed and pulled from the fetid womb of Cyrus Nowrasteh, better known as Karl Rove. Seriously, ol Cyrus has no achey-breaky heart to speak of as he is a neo-con political operative.

First of all there is no such goddamn thing as a 'docudrama'. Either you present a documentary based on fact or you present a drama that is based on pure-d bullshit. What ABC will present as a documentary is, in fact, pure-d bullshit.

This hit piece, essentially puts all of the blame on Clinton for 9/11.

So what the fuck is ABC doing running a hit piece on Clinton? Ask them. Send them an email telling them that this shit is unacceptable. Not that there was anything to watch on ABC anyway, but, I'm taking them out of my channel rotation. Fuck ABC.

Tell ABC to Tell the Truth About 9/11

Below is some excellent commentary on this election time hit piece:

Firedoglake - Hijacking 9/11:
"The ABC television network is using the fifth anniversary of 9/11 as an opportunity to rewrite history. On September 10 and 11, ABC/Disney will broadcast 'The Path to 9/11', a 6-hour, two-part 'docudrama' written and produced by conservative filmmakers who place a lion’s share of the blame for the 9/11 terrorist attacks on alleged failures of the Clinton administration."
What a documentary would tell you about 9/11 is that the Republican's were the ones who tied Clinton's hands when he begged for more tools to fight terrorism. Read this article from 1996:

CNN - President wants Senate to hurry with new laws - July 30, 1996:
"'We need to keep this country together right now. We need to focus on this terrorism issue,' Clinton said during a White House news conference.

But while the president pushed for quick legislation, Republican lawmakers hardened their stance against some of the proposed anti-terrorism measures.

Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott, R-Mississippi, doubted that the Senate would rush to action before they recess this weekend. The Senate needs to study all the options, he said, and trying to get it done in the next three days would be tough.

One key GOP senator was more critical, calling a proposed study of chemical markers in explosives 'a phony issue.'"
....
Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, emerged from the meeting and said, "These are very controversial provisions that the White House wants. Some they're not going to get."
'A Phony Issue'. Indeed. Take it away, bloggers:

AMERICAblog: Because a great nation deserves the truth:
"Before September 11, all the way back in 1996 in fact, the Republicans stopped President Clinton from getting all the tools he needed to stop the next September 11 - well, no, actually they opposed giving President Clinton all the tools he needed to stop the actual September 11."
Republican relativism: wiretap flip-flop | TPMCafe:
"Congressional Republicans were against wiretapping, before they were for it. To posit that a president's power waxes and wanes according to his party affiliation is to engage in moral relativism, an immoral act that Conservatives in America have long claimed was only practised by the left-side of the Political BiPolarity.

Still, many of the same Republican legislators who defend Bush's rampant wiretapping, were adamantly opposed to any expansion of wiretapping during the the Clinton Presidency.

The following quotations are but a few of the total, taken from the 1996 Congressional Record, as a divided Congress ineffectually attempted to help the government stop acts of terrorism, after the first bombing of the World Trade Tower, and the Bombing in Oklahoma City."
Daily Kos: Republicans Blocked Clinton Admin. On Terrorism

Goddammit, I hate lying Republican scum who do everything in their power to retain power at the expense of the safety and well being of the entire fucking country.

I'm offering myself up for street fights for any Republican's who'd like to go a couple of rounds. Make your way to San Francisco and it will be you and me, mano e pussy. I'm sick of this shit and you people need to be beaten to within an inch of your life.

Oh yeah, and George Bush doesn't like working people, either:

Devaluing Labor:
"According to a report by Goldman Sachs economists, 'the most important contributor to higher profit margins over the past five years has been a decline in labor's share of national income.'"

Chrichy... I wonder if that was his last word.

Stingray kills 'Crocodile Hunter' Irwin - Yahoo! News:
"CAIRNS, Australia - Steve Irwin, the hugely popular Australian television personality and conservationist known as the 'Crocodile Hunter,' was killed Monday by a stingray while filming off the Great Barrier Reef. He was 44."
.....
"He came on top of the stingray and the stingray's barb went up and into his chest and put a hole into his heart," said Stainton, who was on board Irwin's boat at the time.

I remember this one time when I saw this great docudrama about the Scorpions called, 'Spinal Tap'. At least I think it was the Scorpions although it might have been Judas Priest...
