Here, here, Matt Tiabbi!

The Chicken Doves : Rolling Stone:

"Quietly, while Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama have been inspiring Democrats everywhere with their rolling bitchfest, congressional superduo Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi have completed one of the most awesome political collapses since Neville Chamberlain. At long last, the Democratic leaders of Congress have publicly surrendered on the Iraq War, just one year after being swept into power with a firm mandate to end it.

Solidifying his reputation as one of the biggest pussies in U.S. political history, Reid explained his decision to refocus his party's energies on topics other than ending the war by saying he just couldn't fit Iraq into his busy schedule. 'We have the presidential election,' Reid said recently. 'Our time is really squeezed.'"

Hey mate,
How's it going? Long time no hear etc etc. Been grooving to the new Truckers album. It's growing on me slowly, but I guess the best albums always do.
Say 'hi' to the Truckers from New Zealand for me.

Take care.

Abat! My Friend!!

Sorry to be so out of touch the last few months. Lots of craziness. I long promised email is coming your way.

Mate, the Truckers have become an integral part of my musical journey and I will always trust them to put out a wicked album.

I prefer albums that grow on me. I like a challenge. So often something that is great on first listen turns out to be just a hollow sugary shell with bugger all inside. The Truckers albums are always chewy with a nut center. LOL. Pure bloody geniuses' (is that a word?).

BTCD is in my car stereo as we speak, along with several compilations I've put together.
I had a bright spark idea and put together a Patterson Hood DBT-thru the albums compilation, an Isbell and a Cooley one. Great way to go through the Truckers laterally. Each one a great comp in its own right.

Yeah, I have way too much free time.
