Yes, We Can, Obama!

I'm backing Obama for the Democratic Nomination. And quite honestly I wouldn't mind seeing Hillary as his running mate.

Daily Kos: ROLL TIDE, ROLL

_______

This is HUGE news in California.

JF Kennedy niece Maria Shriver backs Obama:

"LOS ANGELES (AFP) - Maria Shriver -- wife of California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and a member of the powerful Kennedy political clan -- on Sunday endorsed Barack Obama for US president, just days after her former-actor husband backed Republican John McCain.

'The more I thought about it, I thought, you know, if Barack Obama was a state, he'd be California,' Shriver said to cheers at a rally held at the University of California for the Democratic presidential contender.

'I mean, think about it: diverse, open, smart, independent, bucks tradition, innovative, inspiring, dreamer, leader!' said Shriver, a member of America's foremost political dynasty."
_______

Ethel Kennedy (Bobby's widow) Endorses Obama:

"In the battle for the Kennedy endorsements, The Obama campaign just announced that Bobby Kennedy's widow, Ethel Kennedy, today endorsed Barack Obama."
_______

Yes we can!

ABC News: Stars Come Out for Obama Music Video:

"Celebrity-filled music videos have been used to support many social movements, from famine relief for Africa, to support for American farmers, to opposition to apartheid in South Africa.

But rarely have celebrities and musicians banded together to create new music in the heat of a presidential campaign.

The Black Eyed Peas' frontman, songwriter and producer known as will.i.am, along with director and filmmaker Jesse Dylan, son of another socially active musician, Bob Dylan, released a new song Friday that attempts to do just that."

Can we play some SKYNYRD on this Band Wagon!?!

Delegates are all that matter, not who wins the state.

Hey JPW,
Just curious.. What are your thoughts on Ron Paul?

Glad you're on board, Aikane.

Yo, CH! Good to hear from you.

Here's my thoughts on RP.

I'm loving Ron Paul cause he'll split the Republican vote come November. I fully believe he'll run as an Independent after the Repub nomination has been settled.

RP is attracting those Repubs and independents who are so damn embarrassed by being fooled and used by Rove/Bush et al the past 8 years that they want a candidate that bluntly states that he will virtually eliminate the federal Gov.

And that's, ultimately, what Paul is all about. He wants to abolish the IRS, public schools, welfare, public works and on and on and on. He, truly, wants to 'drown it in a bath tub'.

The only thing Paul is right about is Iraq. But that ain't really a hard position to take unless you are an establishment Republican who believes the escalation is working.

I believe that the government can and should work/benefit the people. I believe that regulation, fairly and smartly done, keeps greed in check and allows people to pursue 'the American Dream'. It allows a vibrant middle class. And without a middle class there is no USA.

Also, Paul is a bit of a racist. Go research his newsletters from the early 90s.

With that said, what's scary is that during the debates, Paul was the only Republican that sounded reasonable. Says something about the other Repub candidates, doesn't it.

Amendment to my earlier statement: I predict Paul drops out tomorrow for good. I didn't realize he had a challenger in his Congressional district. He'll have to go back home and fight for his seat.
