"A little more than a month earlier, teacher Joyce Ben-KiKi had Aron and his classmates each send letters to a famous person as part of a language arts lesson. Ben-KiKi wrapped the exercise around well-known children's book character 'Flat Stanley,' so along with the letters, the children each tucked a Flat Stanley figure they had made into each envelope.
'I told them not to expect a letter back,' Ben-KiKi said. 'I told them these people are very busy and most likely will not write back.'
The list of recipients was impressive: Yankee third basemen Alex Rodriguez; Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, Olympic gold medalist Mark Spitz; Republican presidential candidate and U.S. Sen. John McCain.
Obama was the only one to write back. Two other boys, Avshalom Drescher and Zachary Goldberg, both 8, also wrote to him, but Aron was the first to get a reply."

Shirley Nagel of Grosse Pointe Farms gave out treats Friday evening, but only to those who share her support of John McCain and running mate Sarah Palin.
Fox 2 News reports a sign posted outside Nagel's house, about 12 miles west of Detroit, served notice to all trick-or-treaters. It read: 'No handouts for Obama supporters, liars, tricksters or kids of supporters.'"

JHW---Jesus' economy!!!! God save me from your followers! The whole idea of followers of anyone or anything is repulsive to me. I wish I could share your enthusiasm. I really do. The world is not going to change. Obama seems to be an intelligent, honorable, calm, centered man. I would not mind having him as a friend. Obviously he is less evil than McCain. But the world is not going to change much, if at all. He is another conservative Democrat like Clinton, who was very warlike and cruel in his governing. Obama's slavish support of Israel, his slavish hostility to Iran, his wanting to escalate the occupation of Afghanistan, etc., to me means business (and I mean that quite literally) as usual. At least he is not a moron and seems to have some civility and honor in him. I like the man more than I like his policies. NO ON 8!!! YES ON 2!!!
