Seems to be the Senate Dems take on things.
So, yeah, I'm pretty pissed about the Lieberman deal. I spent a good bit yesterday calling Reid's and other Senate Dem offices voicing my displeasure. Obama even got a fairly hot email from me, too.
If you thought I was tough on the Repubs during the election, wait until you see what's in store for the load of shitty Democrats that treat Congress like some goddamn country club instead of the body of government which represents WE THE EFFING PEOPLE.
And, it's only partially about retribution. Lieberman in his committee roles has been awful, awful, awful.
We we vote for 'change' we expect 'change'. Not back-stabber Lieberman continuing to perpetuate the governing fraud that he is.

Lieberman thing does not surprise me. It is business as usual. Don't forget, he was Gore's running mate. I think all those folks who think things are going to change big time are in for a rude awakening. I heard the exact thing when the Demos gained control of congress couple of years ago. Essentially nothing changed. People were jumping up & down when LBJ declined to run, thinking the war was over. Obama seems like an honorable man (for a politician), but this pervasive Obama hero worship terrifies me. He is just another conservative Democrat. He is going to put the same old tired faces, and their policies, in his cabinet. The Demos & Repubs always serve their corporate masters...Sad, but true.

Why can't millions of people be inspired by someone? I study this stuff 8 hours a day, and I just don't see it. Yes, people are excited for the leadership that Obama is offering, but the sycophants are all on the conservative side. Just watch, Obama's biggest supporters in the netroots will also be his fiercest critics.
There's a reason we're called 'the reality based community'.
And the Dems did not gain control of congress two years ago. We gained control of the house and we had 51 in the Senate that included Lieberman. So the Senate was a wash. And, of course you can count the 93 (at last count) filibusters raised by the Republicans since 06 and Bush who only started to use the veto in 2006 as a reason for the deadlock the past two years... really only 1 year, because the last year was an election year and nothing ever comes out of Congress in an election year.
A: Get over Vietnam.

C: It is "We the peoples" responsibility to change the behavior in D.C. Obama alone is not going to do it.
Buck up, change the attitude and we'll change the world. Stop living in the past.
JPW---I think I am living in the present. It seems like Obama fans are often living in the past. All the standard old school Democrats he is recruiting! We must move past the Clinton-era view of what a Democrat is. A return to Clinton/Gore/Carter/Kerry-type Demos is far short of what the world needs. I was very dismayed by the group photo of Obama and his financial advising team last week. All CEO's and Clinton-era-types. Where were the Union leaders? Where were the folks who will stand up for workers against the corporate interests? Only corporatists standing up with him for the photo op. I hope you are right. I hope there will be real change! I have never listened to Limbaugh or his like, of course. I come to my opinions on my own, even if they don't fit it in with the prevailing Demo line...Seriously, I saw a man wearing a t-shirt yesterday with Obama on the front with angel wings and a halo! I brought up the Vietnam thing because I was pointing out that a change in presidents does not really make much of a change in who truly runs this country. Always follow the money.
