Secret Agent Names

So, what's left of the conservative movement is desperately pushing some crazy-ass 'America is a Center-Right nation' meme.

As is true with most conservative memes, it has no basis in reality.

Sorry, GOP: America Is Left Of Center:

"Now that Barack Obama has won, Republicans have settled on a weird new talking point: the election results, they say, demonstrate that America is a 'center right' nation. But as is typical with the GOP, their claim isn't reality-based. Consider:

1. Democrats have won the popular vote in 4 of the last 5 presidential elections.
2. Democrats have won the presidency in 3 of the last 5 presidential elections.
3. Democrats have increased their popular vote total in 7 of the last 7 presidential elections (see the chart below), while Republicans have done so in just 3 elections, staying flat once, and dropping 3 times.

Oh, and may I mention one more thing? President-elect Barack Obama has won more votes than any other presidential candidate in history:"

Need picture proof?

Breaking News and Opinion on The Huffington Post:
"VOTING SHIFTS
The NY Times breakdown of how the country voted compared with 2004. The redder the area, the more people shifted towards republicans. The bluer the area, the more people shifted toward the Democrats."

I've got a feeling this administration is going to be a bit more open than the last.

Change.gov

President Obama's official Web site goes live:

"WASHINGTON (AFP) - The official website of US President-elect Barack Obama for his transition to the White House, www.change.gov, went online on Thursday inviting users to offer their ideas for the future of the country.

Under the headline of 'Open Government,' the website asks readers to 'Share Your Vision' via email.

'The story of the campaign and this historic moment has been your story,' the website states. 'Share your story and your ideas, and be part of bringing positive lasting change to this country.'

The website's homepage notes that it's '75 days until inauguration,' when Obama is to be sworn in as president on January 20, 2009."

My Secret Service name would be 'Captain Crunch'.... or maybe 'Remy Martin'. What would yours be?

Obama Family Secret Service Code Names:

"The new First Family has been issued code names by the Secret Service. Barack Obama's is 'Renegade,' Michelle Obama's is 'Renaissance,' Malia Obama's is 'Radiance,' and Sasha Obama's is 'Rosebud.' Joe and Jill Biden also received code names, though it's tough to top 'Renegade' and 'Renaissance.' Joe Biden's is 'Celtic,' and Jill Biden's is 'Capri.' Check out the screenshots from MSNBC below."

Sweet. A Bama boy is going to be WH Press Secretary.

Exclusive: Gibbs will be WH press secretary - Mike Allen - Politico.com:

"Robert Gibbs, a top aide to Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) on his campaign and in his Senate office, will be named the White House press secretary, a top Democratic official said."

Gibbs — a 37-year-old native of Auburn, Ala. — became familiar to viewers during the campaign for his sunny steeliness during frequent appearances on morning shows and A-list cable news programs.
You may remember Mr. Gibbs from when he handed Hannity his ass on live TV.

I wonder what the GOP would say if the estimated 6 million democratic votes that had been squashed were counted.
They are dreamin', just like Hannity if he thinks he will ever be relevant journalist. Fixed news is in for a ROUGH 8 years.
Roll TIDE!
Cheers!

Sad thing (besides Prop 8, which is tragic) is that McCain got a clear majority of the white vote...
