"Like Elvis... The King"

GOP Rep: racial profiling of Middle Easterners okay:
"One GOP House member, Peter King (R-N.Y.), even suggests that airport officials 'should consider Middle Eastern ethnic background as a reason for further questioning,' according to GovExec.com."
So, by this standard, shouldn't we pull aside every Texan, New Yorker, North Carolinian, and Arizonian (all places that Timothy McVeigh resided at some point in time) for further questioning when THEY want to get on a plane or rent a Ryder truck? How about Republicans and NRA members since McVeigh's "only known affiliations are as a registered Republican in his New York days, and as a member of the National Rifle Association while he was in the Army."
......

I'll take "Ridiculously Obvious Answers" for 10,000, Alex.

......

They're gonna steal elections again:

Salon's shameful six :
"There was Florida in 2000 and Ohio in 2004. Here are the six states where vote suppression could cost voters their voice -- and Democrats the election -- in 2006."
and....

Ohio voting problems deemed severe:
"CLEVELAND - Problems with elections in Ohio's most populous county are so severe that it's unlikely they can be completely fixed by November, or even by the 2008 presidential election, a report commissioned by Cuyahoga County and released Tuesday says."
You must watch this. And you must spread it around

Olbermann: The Nexus of Politics and Terror

In honor of Elvis' death anniversary I'm going to have a peanut-butter and banana sandwich, a cheeseburger, some 'scription pills, and I may shoot out some TV screens. Although, to be current, I might shoot out some plasma screens.

Elvis fans mark anniversary of death:
"Presley died of heart disease and prescription drug abuse at his Graceland mansion on Aug. 16, 1977. The singer's fans traditionally file past his grave site at Graceland on the eve of the anniversary. A spokesman says as many as 10,000 fans could visit the mansion for this year's vigil"

Agreed, sad. The fall of Rome is staring us in the face. There is opportunity for redemption, though. At least that what I keep telling myself.
