Bush's State of the Union Speech

Ok, ok, here's the real SOTU. Bush said some pretty disturbing.... albeit truthful things last night. Here's a condensed version of the speech:

"We meet here to threaten the world...."

_______

The other day was the anniversary of Roe v. Wade. So, of course, all of the looney 'pro-lifers', what ever the hell that term means, were out offering up all sorts of insanity. Case in point:

On Roe v. Wade Anniversary:
"Also yesterday, Hunter reintroduced the “Right To Life Act,” which he claims “specifically acknowledges the personhood of the unborn as supported by the U.S. Constitution.”"
Yet, the fetus still wouldn't have an implied right to habeas corpus, per Abu Gonzales.

Wheeler, over on Alablawg had a great take on Gonzales recent testimony that that constitution doesn't say what it says:

Why’d We Have That Revolution Thing?:
"First, it reveals quite a bit about AlGonz’s views of the relationship between government and governed. If you think the governed live and move and have their being at the pleasure of the government, well, then AlGonz’s statement makes perfect sense. The people only have those rights and privileges that the government explicitly gives to them. Hence, if the government does not explicitly give them, for example, the right to habeas corpus, than they have no right to habeas corpus. Can you say totalitarian?"

How much definition is too much definition

In Raw World of Sex Movies, High Definition Could Be a View Too Real :
"SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 21 — The XXX industry has gotten too graphic, even for its own tastes."

Rights! We don't need no stinkin' rights! Corporate welfare will do just fine, thank you.

Binky, you never have to worry about typos around here. Hell, my command of the english language, written and spoken, is tres suspect.
