Straight Bullshit Express - Choo Choo!

KO-REA
What Josh Marshall says:

Talking Points Memo:
"For the US this is a strategic failure of the first order.

The origins of the failure are ones anyone familiar with the last six years in this country will readily recognize: chest-thumping followed by failure followed by cover-up and denial. The same story as Iraq. Even the same story as Foley.
But wait, Saint McCain is speaking. Everybody hush and listen to the prophet of the straight talk express. He'll shed new light on this problem and lead us to a solution not yet conceived by us mere mortals. Lets see what he has to say:

After Blaming Clinton For North Korea Nuke, McCain Blasts People ‘Engaging In Finger-Pointing’:
"Yesterday, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) explicitly blamed the Clinton administration for North Korea’s nuclear weapons test on Sunday: “[I]t is a failure of the Clinton administration policies…that have caused us to be in the situation we’re in today.”

This morning on NBC, “Straight Talk” McCain had a different tune: “I think this is the wrong time for us to be engaging in finger pointing when in this crucial time, we need the world and Americans united.”"
Seems to me Saint McCain is straight talkin' out of both sides of his ass.... again! Blame Clinton... yeah, that's an original argument for Rethugs. "It rained out little Billy's baseball game yesterday". "Goddamn Clinton"!

That shit happen on two consecutive days. One day he's blaming Clinton and the next day he's making a plea to not 'finger point'?

Vote for that fool at your own risk in '08. I thought it was a smear in 2000 by the Bush cadre, but maybe all that torture did fuck up McCain pretty badly. Just sayin'.....

Let's see what Josh Marshall has to say now:

Talking Points Memo:
"'Failure' =1994-2002 -- Era of Clinton 'Agreed Framework': No plutonium production. All existing plutonium under international inspection. No bomb.

'Success' = 2002-2006 -- Bush Policy Era: Active plutonium production. No international inspections of plutonium stocks. Nuclear warhead detonated.

Face it. They ditched an imperfect but working policy. They replaced it with nothing. Now North Korea is a nuclear state.

Facts hurt. So do nukes."
"Facts hurt". Yes they do. I'm just not sure who they are hurting at this point. Bizarro World!

They don't have skeellz..... steelz.... fo' reelz

FBI Agents Still Lacking Arabic Skills :
"Five years after Arab terrorists attacked the United States, only 33 FBI agents have even a limited proficiency in Arabic, and none of them work in the sections of the bureau that coordinate investigations of international terrorism, according to new FBI statistics."
Welcome to Gilead, Bitches!

Where's my OfJPW

There is no separation of church and state:
"The NY Times has a long article that is basically a litany of the exemptions and privileges granted to religious organizations. A church-based daycare, for instance, has none of the licensing requirements of a private daycare, and doesn't have to meet any of the standards of a non-religious establishment, nor does it have to worry about civil rights requirements…and it's protected from lawsuits.

The practice of granting churches ever more special rights is accelerating, too, since legislators are always willing to hand over more to the pious frauds. Wouldn't want to be thought disrespectful of religion, you know—so what if they're greedily sucking up more and more money. That's what Christianity is all about!

I say we should revoke the tax-exempt status of all religious organizations. They can ask for exemption for their charitable efforts (and only that part of their work; I don't consider evanglism or missionary work to be charity) just like any secular organization, but simply having 'Christ' in their name and mission statement and having a few guys running around with clerical collars is not sufficient justification. It's time to end the sacred scam."
Boo-yah on the "sacred scam" bit. I couldn't agree more. Take away their tax exemption. Now!

Chavez is a tool

It's not because he dissed Bush at the U.N. by calling him the devil. That was actually pretty funny. Escpecially when he mentions the sulfur smell. Chavez has the makings of a comedic genius with that type of timing and creativity, but.....

Chavez is a tool because of this:

Venezuela to ban beer sales on stree:
"CARACAS, Venezuela - Venezuela's president has a new public enemy: beer trucks.

President Hugo Chavez said Tuesday he is fed up with seeing beer trucks sell alcohol directly on the streets of poor neighborhoods."
Hugo, you bastard. We don't even have beer trucks in the states! What kind of socialist are you, anyway? The U.S.S.R. never, ever thought about taking away the vodka! Dick!!
